The only thing that can get rid of it and I mean completely is if you go to your dematologist and he/she gives you a cortisone shot. It goes directly to the source and kills the bacteria. I recommend this more if you have a special occasion like prom or a huge party. Insurance usually covers your Dr. visits as you know, if you have insurance. Another option is to go to your over the counter products that have benzoyl peroxide, or salicylic acid which will help kill the bacteria. If its red it has not reached the surface yet, so DO NOT pick at it. If its on your chin it also sounds like its more hormonal. I recommended one below, you can try the clean and clear spot treatment. Just put a little dab on it, don’t over due it. You can pick it up at any drugstore like CVS, Walgreens etc. You can also puchase it online.
Whatever you do, do NOT use toothpaste. I know many makeup artists and a few others are pro toothpaste, dont do it. According to many dermatologists this is a myth and can actually really aggrevate the surrounding skin and the pimple itself making it worse! Plus dont exfoliate it either because any harsh abrasive will make it worse as well.
Toothpaste, or a fast acting acne cream.
Alright, this may irritate your skin. It doesn’t to mine, and I have sensitive skin, but not everybody’s the same. Right before bed, I douse a cottonball with rubbing alcohol, and dip it into baking soda. Buff that into the pimple. Don’t rinse. Don’t touch. Sleep. Wash your face in the morning regularly. For me, that either makes it go completely, or else greatly diminishes it, enough so that just light makeup will cover it.
Regular plain toothpaste, it always has worked for me and will diminish the redness and swelling fast!
Here are the thing i know to work,,,, ice applied to bump (put in sandwich bag to keep from getting all wet) apply and hold there 5 to 10 mins. Will shrink it.
Toothpaste (must be paste not gel) this also works on burns.. go figure.(apply and leave overnight)
tea tree oil to help skin heal and reduce scarring apply after cleaning face but will be up for a while to allow the oil to penetrate
Aspirin to reduce redness ( dissolve in little water apply to face allow to sit 15min then use as exfoliate- it will be gritty,,, ps it good to use all over face avoid eyes
caffeine pill added will tighten up skin. I usually put a no dose or jet alert with 3 aspirins and 1 tsp of water just enough water to make it soft and mushy spread all over face for 15min– may tingle… results skin tighter and smooth and soft…..
PS if you do the aspirin facial you must use a good sun screen as removing the dead skin make skin more sensitive to sunlight. 30 spf-recommended
