What are the upsides and downsides of using Yaz?
I’ve bееn οn thе shot (Depo) fοr аbουt a year now, bυt thе side effects аrе wearing mе thin. Abdominal pain, decreased sex drive, moodiness, etc etc… Am thinking οf going back tο thе pill, bυt I lіkе thе іdеа οf nοt having a period, οr nοt getting іt аѕ οftеn.
Heard a lot аbουt Yaz, bυt nοt аnу experiences wіth іt. Cаn anyone whο′s taken іt tеll mе ѕοmе οf thе gοοd аnd bаd things аbουt іt, аnd іf іt’s worth a try? Thanks
Alѕο, I’m 20 years οld, аnd іn a steady relationship.

You can still get a period with Yaz, as well as intermittent bleeding. However your periods are often less painful and long.
My personal experience was less than pleasing. After 6 months, I went back to my old pill. My symptoms were:
Abnormal kidney function & kidney pain
Headaches (almost migraine-like in intensity)
Cramping, though no period after the 2nd month
CHRONIC constipation
Stomach irritation/acid reflux
Sex drive dropped to ZERO (and I had a voracious appetite)
Extreme vaginal dryness
3 yeast infections in 6 months
Well, I didn’t get my period until the 3rd month on it, and that freaked me out! Also, it had the adverse effect on me, I was VERY moody and PMS-y. I couldn’t take it, and switched back to my previous pill
i take yaz. it was supposed to help with acne and facial hair growth, as well as water weight. acne & facial hair situations haven’t improve at all so far, but i did lose a little weight. however, the promised decreased pms symptoms did come to light. the periods are shorter and lighter, but as with any bc pill, you can eliminate the placebos altogether and not have any period at all. i started them 3 months ago and since i have not had any breakthrough bleeding, nor any other problems, my doc says she thinks i’m ready to elminate the placebos completely if i’m ready. as for the decreased sex drive, i have that problem, but i think it’s because my new beau is bad in bed. not sure on that one. i did take the shot, and i must say i prefer yaz way more!
