My dermatologist picked minocycline, it never did me any harm, my skin is so much better now for using minocycline. You should be listening to your doctors advice about which medication to take rather than people on the internet. A lot of people actually haven’t got a clue what they’re talking about when they answer.
Acne has many different causes. Hormones in puberty can cause acne, which is why acne is typically seen as a teenage illness, as teenagers are a raging bag of hormones and it affects their skin. Over-active sebum glands will also cause your skin to produce more oil which clogs up your pores causing spots. There are more reasons, but these two are the most common.
If you have over-active sebum glands, you can help reduce oil production by only washing your face twice a day and trying to avoid touching your face throughout the day, even your hands and hair have natural oils on which will affect your skin.
Your diet will NOT affect your skin, that’s a myth, eat as much dairy and chocolate as you want, it’s not going to make a difference to your skin. Over washing your face WILL cause spots, because you over stimulate the sebum glands on your face, but not washing your face is not a huge cause of acne as some people seem to think.
Basically acne is caused by too much oil being secreted from your pores, which is usually due to hormones.
If you’re a chick minocyline is kinda bad. Idk. My boyfriend wouldnt let me take it because of all the dangerous side effects. These are questions for your dermatologist though.
