When i was a teenager a had bad acne, and used Tetracycline for a year, it works quickly, and was a life saver for me, because i stopped socialising due to embarrassment….. the only negative thing was, it made my front teeth go a bit yellow, which is a common side affect.
I did when I was a teenager. Worked really well and cleared up larger pimples in about a week or so (not so good for small pore clogs and blackhead though). It will make you sensitve to light and you can burn easily so be careful
I had terrible acne as a teen. Cystic acne actually and tetracycline was one of the first things I was on. In my opinion out of all the things I tried…tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, Retin-A, salicylic acid, Cleocin-T and benzoyl peroxide, the best remedy was to stop it all. Use no soap on my face and just wash with hot water and rinse with cold water to reopen the pores.
Vitamins essential to take for acne is lots of vitamin C, A, and E. I would also take zinc and chromium picolinate. I take 1000 mg C, 400 I.U. E (sometimes 2 of these a day) and I take A in the form of beta carotene which converts to A as the body needs it. Too much straight A can be toxic. Also, drink a good deal of water.
Keep in mind that pharmaceuitcal companies are in the business to sell drugs. I found that when I took medications for acne, my acne got worse, making me want to take more of it. I kid you not.
