Doctors/Dentists – can teeth discolored from taking Tetracycline antibiotics turn white again?
Side effects οf thе antibiotics аrе teeth turning yellow аnd grey. Online іt ѕауѕ thіѕ іѕ permanent bυt іn уουr experience dοеѕ іt gο away? Wουld whitening strips bleach thеm back tο white??

Tetracycline staining is one of the most difficult of all stains to correct. Yellow stained teeth respond very well to bleaching techniques. Grey stained tetracycline staining is an internal stain that when tried to be bleached will only slightly lighten up. Many times these teeth have to be covered with a porcelain crown to get the desired amount of whiteness. Sorry for the poor news.
Stains from tetracycline are incorporated into the enamel, so they are very difficult to get rid of. Whitening can make it less noticible, but you definitely need to get bleaching trays made (by your dentist). Whitening strips aren’t strong enough, and probably won’t do much.
The bleach that can be put in bleaching trays is much stronger than that on the whitening strips, and thus should achieve better results. You also will probably need to bleach over the course of several months, rather than a couple weeks like most people.
You do need to realize that it’s difficult to predict how much whitening will help since tetracycline stains are difficult to get rid of.
You can also try using MI Paste, which may help in conjunction with bleaching.
If none of that helps, you might look into getting veneers.
