birth control and tetracycline pills, can they mix?
birth control and tetracycline pills, can they mix? Can i take them at the same time? if not, how can i take them both with out having clashing?
HELP. both meds are needed.
While there is no toxic effect from mixing these two together, you should note that tetracycline and all antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills.
So while you’re on the tetracycline, be sure to use a back up method, such as condoms and you’ll be fine.

They can mix but the tetracycline will reduce the effectiveness of the birthcontrol pills so another method of birth control (condom) will need to be used as back-up.
be careful! antibiotics can reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills! use condoms while you are on the antibiotics!
NOT ALL antibiotics have an effect on b/c pills, HOWEVER,
Tetracycline IS a type of antibiotics which makes birth control pills less effective. You need to use a back-up form of birth control (like condoms) when taking these medications together.
