I’m currently taking tetracycline for my acne, but my mom bought me some new pills. They’re called "clearAc" by Hyland. I was wondering if its safe to take those pills while I’m still taking my tetracycline?
By the way, the clearac has no warnings against it. Like, it only says "do not take if youre pregnant or nursing."

Hi all. I have just completed my first month of Yaz birth control pill (today I will take my 3rd pill of the second packet). My period consisted of dark discharge and some very light spotting and it occurred Thursday (last inactive pill) through Friday (first active pill of this packet). I am not sure when I was supposed to expect my period anyway, so I am not sure if that was late or early or what.
Also, here is the catch: I had sex two weeks ago today (on Jan 14) and we used the pull out method (I know i know, unwise…) but i get the sense that my partner accidently let some out because he seemed unusually concerned about whether i was on bcps. To add to the problem, I am currently taking tetracycline, and I am not sure by how much this decreases Yaz’s effectiveness and whether or not I should be concerned about the tetracycline. All these factors combined make me incredibly nervous. Sorry for the long question, but I am a little anxious.
I should also note that I have had an odd metallic taste in my mouth ever since I had sex. I have also been very very sleepy. I’m not sure if these are due to other factors but I thought I should mention them.

I need to know if they’re the same because i’m allergic to tetracycline, are there any other names for tetracycline?

The dermatologist prescribed me minocycline for my acne but I’m going to Africa for a month and will be taking doxycycline as an anti malarial. I don’t like the idea for taking two antibiotics at the same time especially when they’re in the same group of tetracycline antibiotics. I’ve read that doxy is used to treat acne at times as well.

I am going to my doctor next week so I will ask him but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this. Thanks!

I’ve taken Amoxicillin, Augmentin and Penicillin with no problems, but never a tetracycline. I have never had a yeast infection so far.

(BTW, are they really painful and can I treat them myself without going to the doctor, etc)

by opening up a tetracycline capsule & mixing the powder medicine inside with two quarter size of moisturizing cleanser. what effect did it have on your skin & did it help with your acne? is it dangerous if one were to do so? are there any tetracycline cleansers out there?

I just went to the dermatologist for the first time last week and he prescribed me Tetracycline and Clindamycin. I’m praying that they’ll work! Has anyone had any success or failures with these medications?

Hi i’m 16 and i’m a male and I’ve been using clean and clear for 3 months now and i haven’t seen any improvements so i started to use tetracycline which i started using about a week ago, should i be washing my face with Clean and Clear advantage or use something like a mild cleanser while taking tetracycline?

We did an experiment in class, every group in the class found that tetracycline was more effective than streptomycin in inhibiting growth of E coli. Could it have been because the particular strain of e coli we used may have had a resistance to streptomycin?

I’ve been on tetracycline for 15 days with no results on my cystic acne. I’d like to try Accutane after having informed myself about it. However, I wonder how many days have to pass for tetracycline to clear off of my system before I can start the Accutane.
