If I take birth control and Tetracycline will it help my get rid of my acne faster?
I’m taking birth control for acne
and now starting to take Tetracycline.
I was wondering if taking both would help get rid of my acne faster?
Or should I just take one or the other.

I am 18 yrs old. over the summer i was on tetracycline and my face was very clear, then my prescription ran out and i broke out pretty bad right before college. My doctor then prescribed me with doxycycline and i have been using that with the trtinoin leftover from my tetra prescription along with 5% benzoyl peroxide once a day. Is this a good combo? and how long before i should see serious improvement?

So I’m 14 and today my dermatologist gave me Tetracycline and recommended i use it for about a month and see what happens. But after, I looked on here, and saw that many people complained about harsh side effects, like discoloration of teeth and major nausea. My doctor didn’t mention this though. He just said to not drink or eat any dairy products within 2 hours after taking the meds.

So what I wanted to ask, is all this stuff true? Should I still start taking Tetracycline? And what side effects have you experienced (if any)?

Oh and also, I’ve tried Proactive and Clearasil, and those somewhat worked, but I wanted a more effective medication. And my acne isn’t even that bad, its quite mild. But I thought I should just clear it up now, cause it gets pretty bad sometimes.

I am about to start taking tetracycline for my acne. I know tetracycline is an antibiotic, and I know that antibiotics kill all the bacteria in one’s body, and I know plain yogurt helps to build up the good bacteria in the body, but…. I am supposed to avoid dairy products when taking this medication, because it will make the medicine ineffective, so what should I do about this situation? Can I still have natural plain yogurt? Or is there anything else that can help build up good bacteria?

Anyone given tetracycline as an infant and have tooth damage. D.R. prescibed it to me when i was about 9mths… I have had 6 major dental procedures and all my teeth have had to be capped… because I have little or no enamel on my teeth… also alot of my teeth were disfigured and had to be reshaped and built up to look normal….. Just wondering how common this is and if others have had similar problems ..

how long does it take tetracycline to be expired?

I’m just about to start my tetracycline oral pill perscription and I’m not sure if it is okay to drink alcohol while taking the pill. I know that I should avoid dairy but the sheet that came with my perscription never said anything about alcohol, if anyone could let me know it would be greatly appriciated.

I have to take two pills twice a day for two weeks, then one before bed for 12 weeks.
Also, it would not be large amounts of alcohol.
I’m not allergic to anything, if it helps. =)

i’ve read that Tetracycline discolors teeth. i jusrt started taking it for my acne. will it affect me if i use it for a short-term? any other good recommendations for acne? proactiv did not work.

i just started my first dose today and my rosacea looks worst..is this normal? does it get worst before it gets better? i also have been taking phentermine..could this be interacting with the tetracycline? Help!!

I have just started taking Tetracycline and I wanted to know if any of you had taken it too. Also, what hinders Tetracycline from working properly? Any vitamins?
