I started my Accutane treatment in January 2008 and ended it June 2008. My lips were still chapped a month after and I asked my dermatologist why this is. His answer was that I have braces and the medication is still in effect. Its now been a year, braces off, and still my lips are chapped. Any suggestions?

My pit bull mix is about 9 months old. He started to develop acne about a month ago and it seems to be getting worse around his chin and lips. It doesn’t seem to bother him too much right now but I’m worried because it’s not going away. Does anyone know any at home remedies to get rid of puppy acne?

I’m an accutane and a couple of days ago i left my accutane pills in the car by accident (it was really hot out). I’ve been taking them but noticed my lips aren’t dry like usual and I have a zit which i haven’t had for a while. Is it possible they are not working because they were exposed to such high temperature?

I have been on accutane for 1 1/2 months. Results are looking GREAT SO FAR. I have had some back aches and chapped lips as well as joint aches. Does this stop after treatment. ANd has anyone had results that lasted. Im 26 and my acne just started last year. Tried several meds, but this seems to be the only thing that is working.

My friend would like to quit taking Accutane because she has taken it for a course of 3 months already and it has not helped one bit. She has severe depression and horrible joint pain where she can’t even walk at times. Her lips are constantly chapped, and so on.

My question is, if she just stops taking Accutane, are there going to be any side effects for suddenly stopping?
Also, will the joints, etc, go back to normal?

i started 40mg per day of accutane on april 23. when should i start to see results? when does the dry skin usually start? my lips have begun to be a little dry..but not irritating. i just use a ton of chapstick. thank you.

well my mom has benzoyl peroxide and its for her skin i think and i use things for my zits im 13 years old and i accidently used her benzoyl peroxide instead of my zit stuff and i might of got some on my lips and i heard there really dangrous and no adults are here i took 2 pills that my mom suggest i should take on the phone so i took them but what are signs my ears are red like a ear ache

I am in my fourth week of Accutane. My lips are very dry, and so is my skin and scalp. I was wondering what body wash would be the best to moisturize but not promote breakouts on my back or chest.

My husband started Accutane about 2 weeks ago, and his face and lips are horribly dry. He’s leery of using lotion on his face, because the whole point of Accutane is to dry up his oil glands, so he doesn’t want any lotion that will make his face greasy or clog pores. Also, what works the best for severely dry, cracking lips?

For years now, Ive had acne that wont go away. Ive tried everything on the market. Now, my doctor is suggesting that I go on a drug called Accutane, which is, apparently, a very hardcore way of dealing with acne. Apparently, it might cure my acne forever. But there are some pretty serious things to consider like potential birth defects, liver damage, eye and lips bieng very dry….And, according to one site, the results might only be temporary, even though I will be taking it for five months. Have you taken Accutane? What are some of the side effects you experienced? What are some of the pros/cons? Would you reccomend it?
