I am considering seeing a derm because i have dark purplish scars on my face from acne. If you feel the surface of my skin and face it’s very smooth! Underneath is where my scaring is. I hate it. Until I was 21 I had perfect skin everyone was super envious of. It’s been 6 years of dealing with it and my birth controls (various kinds even those made for people with acne) seem to not do anything! So, does insurance cover accutane? (PPO). and if not, what are some other options that can take it away? I’m getting married in March of 2007 and want flawless skin! But I don’t know if I can afford accutane w/out insurance. How much does it cost? Okay, enough of my 20 questions! :) Thanks for any help!! I’ve tried all the peels, washes, etc by the way…washing morning and night.

I am 3 months into my accutane treatment (80 mg a day) but I have to stop taking it for 1 month due to an insurance lapse, then go back on to finish the last 2 months. Does this ruin the treatment?

Hi! I was taking Minocycline 100 Mg twice a day and the usual benzoyl for acne and it really cleared my face up after using it for a few weeks. I am off insurance right now so I am looking for a cheap alternative because I don’t make a lot.

I am now having a major acne breakout since I went off the Rx a few months ago. There is a lot of redness and it’s itching like crazy.

I finally went to a clinic today and the doctor prescribed Tetracycline 500 Mg twice a day for 2 weeks then once daily. I know I can get it extremely cheap w/o insurance.

I’ve tried erythromycin in the past and it didn’t really do anything for my acne. Proactiv helped somewhat.

So should I fork over the money for minocycline that I know works for me or try out tetracycline or is there another cheap brand out there?

I am aware that accutane is wicked expensive. I am covered under multiplan insurance. Anyone know if they help cover the cost?

I have cystic acne, and my doctor told me that I should definitely try Accutane. The only issue is that my insurance doesn’t cover it and it would cost over 00 a month. I’ve been using the Murad acne process and that’s been working well for me, but that doesn’t work for the cystic acne under the skin, only the blemishes on the top layer. Are there any other medications or products that have worked on cystic acne that you know of? Thank you times ten in advance.
I’m already using a topical treatment called Murad. It’s basically Proactive x10 so that really won’t help me. That doesn’t take care of acne under the skin, only on top.

Like how much is Accutane or the Generic version cost? how much is each dosage each month? also how i hear you need to get a blood test every month i was wondering how much does that cost? Im think about asking my dermatologist to prescribe me it but i don’t have insurance so i need like a estimate how much the whole process is going to cost me?

I’ve been researching birth control before I pick one for me. And the shot, IUD, and the patch aren’t what I want. They all seem too risky. So I was looking into Oral contraceptives and found Yaz, Does anyone know how much it is? Without insurance that is.

I have lost my health insurance and I do not want to take another form of birth control… But a month is too much, I heard Walmart sells Yaz for a month. Is that true? That said, in there any where online I can get Yaz at a discount?

I currently don’t have health insurance, and am considering taking Accutane. However, since I don’t have insurance, I can’t afford continuous visits to a specialist like a dermatologist. I CAN afford to see my family doctor who charges me a flat rate for each office visit.

But, from what I’ve heard from other people, a dermatologist (not a family doctor) is the only person who can prescribe Accutane for you. Is this correct?

I had a yeast infection so somebody told me to take tetracycline (I don’t have insurance to see a doctor, can’t afford to see one). I purchased it online from an overseas company. The thing is whenever I stop taking it my yeast infection comes back the next day really badly, plus it is for some reason making my teeth sensitive. Are there any negative side effects to this med?
