In our lab experiment we tested antibiotic Erythromycin. A zone of inhibition of 9mm was observed. However, I have read that Erythromycin cannot penetrate certain gram-negative cells. Is it true that it can inhibit 50S ribosomal subunit formation in E.coli?

My kids are passing around strep and have been given Erythromycin antibiotic liquid. Its nasty (shit) and they wont take it. Anybody have any proven remedies on how to mask the flavor. Please, only proven methods. Thanks.

the antibiotic erythromycin binds with the 50S portion of a ribosome. What effect does this have on a prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell?

I generally have a fairly good - great complexion. I never broke out until about 2 months ago and i think it was from stress. my doctor gave me erythromycin and i just started using it today. has it been beneficial to you? and is it good for blackheads

i’m 34 wks pregrant and been taking erythromycin to 11 day and feel nothing is happening y is this

my derm said it doesn’t matter if i use either one at night or morning but he did say that if i use tretinoin during the day to use sunscreen. but i have been using the erythromycin during the night instead of the tretinoin because the eryhromycin makes my skin so dry and white and when i put my moisturizer on it still makes it look scaly and later in the day makes it look so oily. any opinoins? i use oil free neutrogena moisterizer with spf 30

Im suffering from a dental infection and was put on amoxycillin and metrodinazole, my dentist has sent me some more antibiotics because i was going to run out before the infection had fully cleared. He has sent erythromycin instead of amoxycillin, but I’m a bit confused. Is this to be taken instead of the amoxycillin or aswell as? thanks

I’m wondering what effect Erythromycin will have with the Xanax I take. Will it exspell the xanax without metabolizing it or cause retention of it?

I was prescribed a bottle of erythromycin by my dentist a while back after having some dental work done, but I never used any of it. Now I have this crazy cold thing that seems to be developing into bronchitis and possibly pneumonia (eventually). It’s hanging out in my chest/very low throat area (just underneath the spot where my two collar bones meet). Can I take the erythromycin to get rid of whatever this is?

I’ve been feeling kind of off lately and was thinking that I might be getting sick. I had some left-over Erythromycin 250MG pills so I took one on the off chance that I it might help me feel a little better. You are supposed to take them 4 times a day, but I only took one. Now I need to take another drug and that Erythromycin may interfere with it. Since I only took one Erythromycin, how long should I wait before taking this other drug?
