My almost-15-yr old son is possibly about to start treatment with Accutane for his acne. He has been on doxycycline and using 2 topicals for several months with not the greatest of results. The dr wants him to try Accutane, he says for about 5 months. Just curious if other parents have consented to their teenager taking this treatment and if it is working and if they have had any side effects from it.

I usually take the drug in the morning after breakfast. now i learn tht doxycycline can’t be taken with antacid, milk and food containing iron or else the drug won’t be absorbed in the small intestine effectively. So can i take the drug with an empty stomach in the morning like 2-3hrs before breakfast?

i was put on doxycycline twice daily for one week for a possible std.

will i have been healed by the end of the seven days?
how soon will i notice results?

I started taking doxycycline for a bacterial infection . I started my cycle a couple days later. Mine usually only last for about 6 days, but this time it’s been eight and the bleeding won’t lighten up or stop like it usually does. Does anyone know anything about this or where I can find more info?

I am 18 yrs old. over the summer i was on tetracycline and my face was very clear, then my prescription ran out and i broke out pretty bad right before college. My doctor then prescribed me with doxycycline and i have been using that with the trtinoin leftover from my tetra prescription along with 5% benzoyl peroxide once a day. Is this a good combo? and how long before i should see serious improvement?

I’m taking a course of anti-biotics called Doxycycline but have excruciating period pain. Is it safe to take a paracetamol/coedine pain releif pill like feminax?

I just got prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate a few days ago for my acne. I was wondering how well it works cuz I feel like I’ve tried everything. How long did it take to see a difference? Does it make your skin worse before it stats getting better? How did it work for you?

Im travelling to Kenya soon for aid work, and im currently on acne medication, i was told by somebody that doxycycline could be used as anti malarial medication as well as for acne prevention, is this true?

I saw a doctor yesterday for a boil on my armpit (dealing with MRSA). I thought he would’ve lanced it with it being quite big, but he prescribed doxycycline and said that it should help drain it. But wouldn’t it need to get lanced first and then the antibiotic clears up the infection? Can this antibiotic actually help clear it up without lancing? And, if it wouldn’t, would it mean that my body is immune to it or it’s not effective?
