I’m taking a course of anti-biotics called Doxycycline but have excruciating period pain. Is it safe to take a paracetamol/coedine pain releif pill like feminax?

I just got prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate a few days ago for my acne. I was wondering how well it works cuz I feel like I’ve tried everything. How long did it take to see a difference? Does it make your skin worse before it stats getting better? How did it work for you?

Im travelling to Kenya soon for aid work, and im currently on acne medication, i was told by somebody that doxycycline could be used as anti malarial medication as well as for acne prevention, is this true?

I saw a doctor yesterday for a boil on my armpit (dealing with MRSA). I thought he would’ve lanced it with it being quite big, but he prescribed doxycycline and said that it should help drain it. But wouldn’t it need to get lanced first and then the antibiotic clears up the infection? Can this antibiotic actually help clear it up without lancing? And, if it wouldn’t, would it mean that my body is immune to it or it’s not effective?

My fiancee has/may have strep throat. A doctor prescribed Doxycycline, and took a strep culture test, which my fiancee won’t get the results back for a couple days. I was then told by trustworthy people that Doxycycline was overkill for a strep patient, especially since it isn’t even known if she has strep. I would like professional medical input please. What is Doxycycline and should it be used in this instance?

Hi I’m a 20 years old girl suffering from pastular acne and I have been taking oral antibiotics since 2001. I took doxycline until 2005 before my acne flares up again. My doctor then prescribed me erythromycin which worked for a few months before I started breaking out again and it was back to doxycycline for me. Now my doctor has prescribed me minocycline, will it worked since it is the same class as doxycycline or should I try other acne treatments such as oral contraceptives?

i have been taking Doxycycline for 5 days now for my acne, and now it feels like there is something in the back of my throat could it be the Doxycycline or is it a coincidence? if so is it dangerous if i keep taking it?

I just found my prescription pills of Doxycycline Hyclate today 2/16/10. It is a medicine that cleans bacteria. I first got it 09/16/09 but lost it the same day. And I just found it today and on the bottle it says use before 01/22/10 which just passed. But it dosent say a expire date just says use before. I want to know would do you think it would still work if I take it? Thank you

would a 100mg doxycycline,that i took 2 times a day for about a week, have enough of an effect to cancel birth control?
haha, ya well thats the thing, i didn’t supplement, and now, i’m hoping nothing "happened", if you know what i mean.
