I’m not too familiar with going to the pharmacy. I must not have went in 15 years, so please help me understand the prescription. I think doxycycline is the best for me, but I’m thinking there might be occasional situations in which other malaria drugs will be better. So since the prescription says "substitutions permitted" does that mean the pharmacist can give me other anti-malaria drugs like Lariam on request?

I’m taking Levoxyl but recently my acne has started flaring up. In the past I was prescribed a form of doxycycline for my acne but was not on Levoxyl at the time…I’m wondering if I can still take it?

I had sex with my exgirlfriend on February,and a month later i realised that my penis have a yellowish discharge with burning sensation.Hence i went to a clinic and found out that i have infected with chlamydia.The doctor gave me a 10 days medication of Doxycycline, and i had feel better after treatment.But what worries me,is that i still have mild and clear discharge eventhough there is no more burning sensation. It’s quite irritating at the urethra.On April i went to the clinic again for checkup.The doctor took some sample of my penis discharge to his lab for test and told me that he couldn’t find any bacteria/virus and told me that i am free from chlamydia and not to worry.It is July now and i am still having this clear discharge.May i know what is the problem?Is it serious?By the way, i am a beer lover and drinks lot of it.Is this why i still have this problem? Please Advise.Thank You

My doctor prescribed me to doxycycline for chlymidia and said "NO intercourse until the medication is done". Can I still masturbate safely? or will this upset the healing process? There is no pain or anything either.
Obviously I don’t mean am I going to catch something lol. I’m asking if doing it will make it harder to heal while on the meds. Thanks though

I should add that this is the 3rd antibiotics I have received (after Nitrofurantoin and Azithromycin). The others did not help and so now I am scared this one might not either. I think perhaps I have a bacterial infection and not Chlamydia, but then shouldn’t Doxycycline should be effective against that too?

My husband smokes weed every weekend… like a bowl and that’s it. Could it be affecting his fertility?

My husband also takes doxycycline for a re-occuring infection. He’s been on it for about 3 months now but was on it before. We have been TTC for over a year. Do antibiotics affect fertility??

I took Doxycycline for 10 days for Lymes Disease, but stopped taking it two days ago. i am still SO nauseous! is this normal?

I’ve been taking doxycycline for about a month and a half or so…i don’t take it twice a day like i should..but a good amount.
I went tanning in the sun today and within thirty minutes i got a beautiful tan!

I am an easy tan-er, but i thought doxy was supposed to be bad mixed with tanning/uv rays..i would just like some info. if anyone knows.

I was possible misdiagnosed with a UTI and prescribed Nitrofurantoin, i took the last pill yesterday only to find out today it is Chlamydia. So now they (planned parenthood) gave me Doxycycline, I am starting it tomorrow. Am I going to be ok taking them so close together? Anything I should watch out for while taking Doxycycline? (100mg, 2X daily)
