If so, who prescribes the birth control? Is it the same doctor that gives you Accutane or do you have to go to a gynecologist?
I will be seeing a dermatologist

I just got in a fight with my dermatologist (he’s a jerk) and he won’t tell me so why not ask the community, right? I’m 32, been on Accutane thrice but I forgot how long after treatment I have to be careful about my liver and all. My exams on my last day of Accutane said that all my transglicerides and transaminasas (in English?) are within range. So when can I start eating steak and drinking wine and playing beach volleyball again?

Hi, my dermatologist finally prescribed me some accutane to control my acnes. I am femail. 21 and not sexcually active.

and as I read the instrcution booklet it says "start your medication 2nd or 3rd day of your menstrual cycle",
I haven’t heard about that from my dermatologist though. Is that an instruction for sexually active people?? Or should all females follow that?

I recently went to the dermatologist and they said if my acne didn’t clear up in two months with the product they had given me then they would have to put me on accutane.I’ve heard about all the side effects.( they seem serious) I just don’t know…have you ever taken it? Did it help? And what were the side effects after you stopped taking accutane?

I got prescribed Tetracycline for my acne. The dermatologist said that it won’t stain my teeth since they are developed, but I’m worried it’ll stain the inside of my teeth and my wisdom teeth.

can a regular doctor perscribe this for acne or do you have to specifically go to a dermatologist?

I have it very severe on my back. I have been on for 3 weeks now and my doctor said it is a 5 month program. I have not seen any change since i started it, if anything it looks worse. I have been on 20mg of accutane, so when I go in for my next appointment is will the dermatologist put me more 30-80mg because of the severity of my acne?

So I’m 14 and today my dermatologist gave me Tetracycline and recommended i use it for about a month and see what happens. But after, I looked on here, and saw that many people complained about harsh side effects, like discoloration of teeth and major nausea. My doctor didn’t mention this though. He just said to not drink or eat any dairy products within 2 hours after taking the meds.

So what I wanted to ask, is all this stuff true? Should I still start taking Tetracycline? And what side effects have you experienced (if any)?

Oh and also, I’ve tried Proactive and Clearasil, and those somewhat worked, but I wanted a more effective medication. And my acne isn’t even that bad, its quite mild. But I thought I should just clear it up now, cause it gets pretty bad sometimes.

Thanks!

i was thinking of taking it. i have already talked about it with my dermatologist. we’re thinking of starting treatment in february. however, i am being prescribed birth control in less than 2 weeks, so should i just wait 1-2 months to see if my acne clears up with the birth control? my acne is mild, my skin is constantly oily. i hate it! i am also afraid of taking accutane because of the side effects. has anybody taken this and did you experience any side effects?

My dermatologist prescribed Benzoyl Peroxide (4.5%) pads for my moderate acne. The box says to apply in the morning but to refer to the paper inside the box for further instructions. Somehow I misplaced that paper before reading it. I know that you’re supposed to wash and dry your face before using the pad BUT my question is: How long after using a Benzoyl Peroxide pad do you wash/rinse it off?
