That is the best thing. Wash your face gently and then don't bother it or put anything on it. You'll be surprised how fast it will heal if you take a hands off approach. The sore will heal quickly. In general, fresh aloe vera from the plant works well as a topical treatment after washing your face (better to do this at night - there will be temporary redness). Also, Neosporin works well in the winter time as both a skin protectant, and to prevent breakouts if you have dry skin during the winter. If the skin is broken, cleanse the area and apply Neosporin.
