Frequently STDs in mom, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis. There are other infections it’s prescribed for as well, but the above seem to be the main ones.
Here’s the PDR entry for it: http://www.pdrhealth.com/drugs/rx/rx-mono.aspx?contentFileName=Ery1163.html&contentName=Erythromycin%2C+Oral&contentId=214
Erythromycin is a Microline antibiotic that has an antimicrobial spectrum similar to or slightly wider than that of penicillin, and is often used for people who have an allergy to penicillin.
So Basically, If someone needs penicillin during pregnancy, for any pains (ie. back pain, knee pain) And they are alergic, they can use Erythromycin. Hopefully that helps??

NOT LIKE AZITHROMYCIN, which is used for Std’s or other infections
ear infection, sinus infection i also think std’s like syphilis
I am allergic to penicillin, and took Erythromycin while pregnant because I had several potentially cancerous large moles removed. I took it both orally and topically to prevent infection of the incision/stitches.
Edit: sorry, bad memory. I took a different antibiotic orally; the Erythromycin was only topical. I did take it while nursing for a breast infection, though.
yes it is indeed an antibiotic used for stds or infections but the most common ailment which is especialy normal during pregnancy is urinary tract infection…2 many wite blood cells
