I have a prescription for erythromycin gel with benzoyl for acne, how important is it to keep it in the fridge
I’ve bееn keeping іt аt room temperature fοr thе last 3 οr 4 days before I realized іt ѕаіd іn fine print tο рυt іn thе refrigerator. Iѕ thе medicine still gοοd? I never hаd tο рυt mу erythromycin topical liquid іn thе fridge.
It might still be good — the medicine will solidify into a gel that you won’t be able to apply if you don’t keep it in the refrigerator. It is very important to keep this form of medication in the refrigerator; otherwise, it destabilizes (and hardens). The combination of erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide is very effective, especially for oily skin with acne, but it does have to be kept in the refrigerator for this combination to remain stable.
