Can Erythromycin 250mg be used to treat a tooth infection?
I have these pills that was treated for another infection but didnt use them. So i was wondering if it would take the infection of the gums and tooth away?
No.
If you have an infection in your mouth you will need to see a dentist as soon as possible.
No. Erythromycin is almost never used to treat a dental infection (it’s not effective). Self medicating is never a good idea unless you’ve had formal training in the carous forms of antibiotics and their therapeutic uses (i.e. you’re a doctor).
Please see your dentist if you feel you have an infection. Especially for periodontal disease (infections surrounding a tooth) you may be surprised that the best treatment doesn’t require any antibiotics.
