Why shouldn’t I eat dairy products while taking Doxycycline?
Whаt affects dοеѕ dairy products hаνе οn doxycycline thаt уου саn’t take none?
Thanks
Thanks fοr уου аnѕwеr yea, i don’t know whу nеіthеr рυt іt аѕ thаt lіttlе brіght yellow sticker saying Nο dairy products, antacids οr iron.

Doxycycline is one of tetracycline group.
This group reacts with (chelated by) calcium, Iron, Antacid. Milk & dairy product contains Calcium. But doxycycline reacts lesser than the other drugs of this group.
If you take them same time, the amount of drug being absorbed will be decreased. Some amount is bound with those ions & passes in stool.
That is why it is written there.
Never any relation to the bacteria in Dairy product or such thing.
i don’t know who told you this.
i was on doxycycline for several months a couple of years ago and i never changed my diet at all (in other words, large glasses of milk at dinner, occassional ice cream, lots of cheese, butter on my bread, etc.).
heck, i’ve even used milk to help me swallow the doxycycline.
i’m still alive today, several years later, so it definitely won’t kill you to eat dairy. if you truly aren’t supposed to, i don’t know, but in my case the pills did what they were supposed to do, while i ate tons of dairy.
Most dairy products (like milk or yogurt) are cultured, which means they have actively live healthy bacteria in them. Doxycycline is an antibiotic. An antibiotic’s job is to kill bacteria. You are probably taking doxycycline for a mild infection, a cold, or moderate acne. The drug may end up working to fight the non-harmful dairy products rather than trying to fight the harmful cause of your illness.
Chicken Heart is correct.
The bacteria in those foods might confuse the doxycycline.
