What happens when you get off doxycycline hyclate for acne?
I’m current οn doxycycline hyclate fοr acne fοr three months, bυt wаѕ wondering іf whеn I gο back tο thе doctor аnd ѕtοр taking thіѕ antibiotic, isn’t thе bacteria going tο come back again — along wіth mу acne? If ѕο whаt’s thе point οf taking mу meds?

Holly D, I acne problems beginning when I was 18. I had acne on my cheeks that was embarrasing. I tried Proactiv, Murad, Zyporex, Aceneticin, Oxycerin, and even the Asso Gold Cleaning Bar with limited results. I ended up calling a local dermatologist. After 4 months nearly all of my acne cleared up. I suggest you try calling a dermatologist that can help. http://www.homeacnecare.com
Exactly. What is the point? All it does is give you false hope. And the bacteria becomes resistant to the antibiotic so more pimples when you stop taking them.
hi! i just got off doxycycline, because it was making me want to puke in the mornings. i had been on it for about 1 year. My doctor told me to use a face wash and then perscribed me a topical ointment that controls my acne really well.
also, you can use clearacil ultra vanishing cream if your doctor doesn’t give you a topical ointment for your acne
I really don’t think that your acne will come back as bad as it was–mine didn’t

I took doxycycline when I was around 16-17 and it cleared up my acne… Then when I went off it came back. It wasn’t that bad so I didn’t deal with it but I went to a new dermatologist again years later and he prescribed the same thing. After a couple weeks my face is totally clear again. So… I guess you stop taking it and if acne comes back, you take it again? Personally it’s the only thing that clears up any acne I have, topical stuff doesn’t do anything for me since I don’t really have blemishes.
