Is it ok to take amoxicillin for 10 days after taking 7 days of Doxycycline hydrochloride?

not sure how you accidentally start another antibiotic after taking the first one but……..it is safe to take the two in progression but not at the same time. i would suggest that you give your liver a couple days rest since both are metabolized in the liver and both can be pretty rough to metabolize. be sure that you are drinking lots of water, stay away from alcohol and smoking, and watch for any rashes or difficulty breathing. Doxy has a higher incidence of allergic reactions than does Amoxil which is the reason Amoxil is prescribed quite a bit more. if you start to run a fever, have nausea-vomitting-diarrhea, a rash, shortness of breath, stop taking amoxicillin immediately and get to an emergency room quick. antibiotics can also give you loose stools so try saltine crackers to act as a binding agent in the intestines. stay away from bran cereals until done with the doses. your skin should be really clear and your urinary tract spotless.
it should be fine, you may have to get some acidophilus after you take all that since you will be killing all the bacteria in your body……..you may get an upset stomach since all the antibiotic will kill the good bacteria in your bowel that helps digest food…………but it’s not going to hurt you by taking them both back to back
