Doxycycline is a different type of chemical class than either penicillins or sulfa drugs, each class acts in a different way in the human body. There should be no cross allergic reaction between any of these drugs.

Yes, well, sort of. Straight Up, "I’m not sure." …. I believe it is an Antibiotic of some description, & it may be very very loosely said that all Antibiotics are related. BUT,, NOT All are related to Penicillin & sulfa drugs. …………. I WOULD Check with My Doctor, If it was me….. Don’t take medicines lightly, & ‘Hope’ they will do you no harm!! BOTTOM LINE,,, "If You are Not Sure about ANY Medication,,, Do NOT Take it Until YOU ARE SURE! " & Yes,, Even if that contradicts a Doctor’s Advice!!……………… EDIT;;; ADDED DETAILS;; A long time ago, a Neurologist tried to convince me to take medication "For My Own good", but I refused without further discussion. In this discussion, the Doctor confirmed what I thought, that the medication hee was prescribing May Be Very Harmful to me, "But.." Naturally I told him "NO".
