No, that is much too old, it will not be effective. Most any medication expires within 1 year, some sooner. You can usually get by keeping them a bit longer than the expiration date but 3 years is just too long, get rid of them.
It’s probably fine to take. Your pharmacy bottle is required by law to say that it is no good after 1 year, because pharmacies all have their own bottles of the drug from different places with different expiration dates. Years ago, there wasn’t such a thing as an expiration date. It still has the same potency. My only problem with this is what are you taking it for? if you think you have a bacterial infection, you need to see a doctor because Doxycycline may not be a drug that will work for your particular problem.
