Has anyone here taken doxycycline and if so has it affected your menstrual cycles in any way?
I ѕtаrtеd taking doxycycline fοr a bacterial infection . I ѕtаrtеd mу cycle a couple days later. Mine usually οnlу last fοr аbουt 6 days, bυt thіѕ time іt’s bееn eight аnd thе bleeding won’t lighten up οr ѕtοр lіkе іt usually dοеѕ. Dοеѕ anyone know anything аbουt thіѕ οr whеrе I саn find more info?

I took it from December to February for my skin and actually, now you mention it I did have a very unusual period in January. It was so painful (usually I don’t suffer from pain that much) but I didn’t notice any difference in the length or flow. Since then I switched to Oxytetracycline (I was experiencing LOTS of side effects with Doxycycline) which is in the same ‘family’ of antibiotics as Doxycycline and again, I have noticed a slight change in my cycle. It used to be every 31 days, but now I get it every 27 days and it always used to be 8 days long and VERY heavy, now it’s much lighter and only lasts a week! I hadn’t really thought about it being due to the antibiotics that my cycle had changed, but since I read your post I am beginning to think otherwise, thank you!
