Have you been a primary care provider? It sounds a little like you are diagnosing yourself. I would also have to ask if the antibiotic is a "leftover" you have in your medicine chest. It is not safe to take it if it is outdated or if you are self diagnosing. Doxycyline is used for a variety of infections. It should not be taken with milk as the medication will bind with the protein and not be absorbed. You obviously would not be asking this question were the medication prescribed to you for this specific problem. Go to an urgent care center and find out what kind of bacteria has caused your infection. Only a professional care giver can tell you if a med is right for your bacterial infection. Good luck to you.
