I’m currently on a 5-month Accutane (Isotretinoin) regimen for my skin. I know birth control pills are required because of the birth defects that Isotretinoin can cause, but I want to stop taking the pills for various reasons. Will my doctor know if I stop taking the birth control pills? I have to take a blood test and a pregnancy test every month, but I don’t think the doctor would be able to detect changes in my hormone levels. Answers?

i started 40mg per day of accutane on april 23. when should i start to see results? when does the dry skin usually start? my lips have begun to be a little dry..but not irritating. i just use a ton of chapstick. thank you.

I’ve been taking accutane for almost 7 weeks now, and i haven’t seen much of a difference in my acne. I’m getting discouraged, so if you have any advice or personal stories that would be great!

I have tried everything and nothing worked so my doctor put me on Accutane. I am starting tomorrow with the 40mg. A lot of my friends of have been on it and it really helped them and now they don’t even have to put foundation on. My friend told me she noticed the difference in 2 weeks. I know its different for everyone, but how long does it usually take for it to start kicking in?

I’m on this medication and my pills are called Accuran but I’ve heard they are another type of Accutane and roAccutane. What’s their real relation?

So I’ve been on accutane for 3 months now and the results are fab. Anyhow, about a week ago my eye became really red and dry, it says on the paper that one of the side effects is conjunctivitis. How do I get rid of it reaaaaall quick because my parents are planning on making me stop the treatment and theres no way in hell im gonna let that happen. PLEAAAASE help me get rid of it!

I’ve been on accutane 20 mg for my acne for about 3 weeks now and it’s yielded only minimal results so far. I was wondering when it will really kick in and if eating pizza/fast food will effect the effectiveness of the medicine.
