Has anyone had their skin burned or scarred by benzoyl peroxide?
I рυt a tіnу dab οf PanOxyl acnegel οn a spot οn mу cheek a week ago. I didn’t realise hοw dаngеrουѕ benzoyl peroxide іѕ – I now hаνе a large raised dаrk red burn mаrk οn mу face thе size οf a 50p thаt looks lіkе іt wіll bе a permanent scar. Anything I рυt οn іt mаkеѕ іt hυrt – even water. Hаѕ anyone hаd thіѕ happen tο thеm? Iѕ thеrе anything I саn dο?
benzoyl peroxide typically isn’t dangerous. i’m not sure why it did that to you but usually that doesn’t happen. go to your local walgreens and ask the pharmacist on duty about it.. they’ll answer any questions for you even if you’re not getting a prescription filled — very helpful.
or you could call your doctor.
btw. don’t put cocoa butter on your face.
I have been burned once. First I used regular ointment to heal it then after it was healed i put cocoa butter on it daily to heal the scar. If that’s too much then makeup is always a option.
i had a similar burn , let me tell you, u have a tough road ahead. i am still suffering, mine was quite big but it slowly reduced in size, i tried a lot things but nothing worked, then i started using retin-a on the doctor’s recommendation, it has healed it a LOT in two days, and the burn has been there for 3 months, it has finally healed a little.
