It is usually dubbed the "worst case scenario". The doctor will try you on antibiotics, creams and possibly contraceptive pills before considering Accutane. Tetracycline took me about a month to see some sort of results, but when i went off them the bloody acne came back, so in the end the doctor practically begged me to take Accutane so i would quit coming to him and complaining. If you can get your hands on it, it is a wonderful drug, annoying side effects in regards to dryness and sensitive skin but amazing for acne.
