How long after taking Accutane can my wife SAFELY get pregnant?
Mу wife іѕ аbουt tο fіnіѕh hеr 6 month long cycle οf Accutane. Now wе want tο gеt pregnant. Wе hаνе аѕkеd ουr doctors hοw long іt takes tο safely bе out οf hеr system. Wе gеt mixed аnѕwеrѕ anywhere frοm 1 tο 6 months. One person even tοld υѕ a year!

the docs told my wife 6 months, but she was on it for a year. Me, personally, looking at the back of the medicine and seeing the fcked up baby pic, i would wait a year. BTW, they told her not get her eyebrows waxed, or anything waxed for a year cause it might start scarring. also, watch out for nic and cuts, they can scar easy.
I hope the doctor told you and your wife that Accutane can cause infertility. A pharmacist might know the answer to your question.
I would call a few pharmacy’s and speak to the pharmacist and see what they say.
I would also call planned parenthood and ask there.
Call the company and ask them.
The least recommended time is 30 days..
However, a lot of doctors, because of the danger, will suggest up to 3 months minimum. The reason, depending on how long you have been on Accutane, is because of it being stored in the tissues. One general rule that some doctors use as well, to be on the safe side, is one month for every month on Accutane. In other words, 6 months in your wife’s case.
I know it can be confusing. If she took the least amount (10mg), then 8 weeks should be a sufficient amount of time. If she took a larger dose, no less than 3 months, and to be safe I would even wait 6 months personally because of the major birth defects associated with Accutane.
Good luck!
