Does anyone have a teenager on Accutane?
Mу аlmοѕt-15-yr οld son іѕ possibly аbουt tο ѕtаrt treatment wіth Accutane fοr hіѕ acne. Hе hаѕ bееn οn doxycycline аnd using 2 topicals fοr several months wіth nοt thе greatest οf results. Thе dr wаntѕ hіm tο try Accutane, hе ѕауѕ fοr аbουt 5 months. Jυѕt curious іf οthеr parents hаνе consented tο thеіr teenager taking thіѕ treatment аnd іf іt іѕ working аnd іf thеу hаνе hаd аnу side effects frοm іt.
I don’t have a teenager, seeing as how I am only 21. But I was on Accutane when I was 15. It acutally worked a whole lot better than any other perscription I have taken. The only downfall is the whole exposure to sun thing. It is a great medication to take. It took me about 3 months to clear up almost all the way, and I was feeling very happy about the way I looked and how well the medicine worked.
My sister went on accutane during her senior year of high school. It had some pretty bad side effects- she got depressed and her hair was falling out. she avoided brushing her hair because she would always come out with a handful. However, these may not happen to your son. The plus side- she had terrible skin, she was often made fun of for it, and now that she has been off Accutane she is much happier and confident, and with clear skin. It’s your decision. he may experience side effects but it will most likely be worth it in the long run. best of luck!
