As far as I know, yes, you do. It’s a liability issue. You can tell a doctor over and over that you’re not sexually active, but that won’t protect them from a lawsuit if you become pregnant while on Accutane and your baby has birth defects. They have to prescribe birth control for you to protect themselves and your baby, should you become sexually active while you’re taking it.
Edit: According to the two links below, you must agree in writing to at least two forms of birth control while you’re taking Accutane. The laws may vary based on what state you live in, but a doctor would be foolish to trust a patient’s word over prescribing birth control for a female patient while she’s taking Accutane.
This is a medical liability & the Dr. is required to give a birth control Rx with the Rx for accutane. Take this for what you want.

Yes you do. Patients LIE and the doctor gets screwed.
My advice is to stay off the accutane (too many BAD side effects) and find an all natural way to control your acne problem. >^..^<
