Can you moisturize while taking accutane?
I hаνе јυѕt ѕtаrtеd taking Amnesteem (whісh іѕ thе exact same thing аѕ Accutane, јυѕt a different brand) аnd mу face іѕ already starting tο dry out. I саn’t remember whаt mу dermatoligist ѕаіd аbουt mosturizers ѕο I аm asking уου guys. Sο, саn i moisturize mу face whіlе taking accutane ѕο іt doesn’t look ѕο dry?

not only can you use moisturizer, you should. Just be sure to use a water based moisturizer, not one with oils in it.
Definitely! You need to!
Yeah, just make sure it is water based, not an oil based lotion.
The best moisturizer while on acne medications is Cetaphil. It won’t clog your pores up (aka no pimples) & it moisturizes well & won’t irritate your face. But maybe not the 1 with sunscreen in it, can be irritating. Also, their face wash is very soft & useful. Your lips are going to start getting severely chapped too, try Dr. Dan’s lip balm. (CVS, etc.) – All of this is what my derm recommended while I was on Accutane. Good luck.
P.S. avoid sun exposure.
Should be OK as long as you don’t use something that aggravates acne, i.e. plugs the little holes where acne forms and allows infection to start.
I just started taking Amnesteem about 4 days ago. I haven’t noticed any significant drying of my face yet but my doctor did say to moisturize everyday. He also said it was neccesary to stop the use of ALL topical treatments and to let the Accutane work alone. The only real change I have noticed so far is that my lips seem dryer than usual, but it’s not something that can’t be ixed with vaseline. I wish you the best of luck with your treatment!
