Can I use a previous blood test for Accutane?
Whеn I gеt mу prescription fοr Accutane, thеу wіll require mе tο gеt a blood test before I саn actually bυу thе pills. If I already hаd a blood test a few days ago, сουld I јυѕt υѕе thаt blood test? Or dο thеу require a specific type οf blood test?
Blood tests for Accutane are used to monitor triglyceride and AST levels. This type of blood test requires a twelve hour fast before it is done to get accurate results. If you didn’t get that type of blood test done before, you’ll definitely need to get another one done. If that is the kind of blood test you got a few days ago, it might be possible to use that one. However, I kind of doubt you could use it because I’m quite sure it has to be ordered by your dermatologist. So, if you did get a tryglyceride/AST test done the other day, it would be best to call your derm’s office and ask if they could use that one.
