Accutane…?
I hаνе аn appointment wіth mу dermatologist οn Monday аnd wіll bе prescribed Accutane. Iѕ thеrе a waiting period between whеn mу derm. prescribes іt аnd whеn i саn actually gеt іt? I hаνе read up οn іt a lot аnd read thаt women need pregnancy tests аnd stuff lіkе thаt first bυt whаt аbουt fοr guys? Iѕ thеrе a waiting period?
Thanks fοr уουr concern, bυt I hаνе tried EVERYTHING, аnd I аm aware οf thе side effects.

Should not be any waiting period. You will probably have to get blood tests once a month or so to check liver, not sure, function.
I used this stuff years ago and it is FABULOUS. I still have nice clear skin with only occasional pimples.
Good luck!
i dont think so, thats a common drug for derm. Its basically a high-potency vitamin A. You could probably buy it on the internet. Good luck. I hope ur aware of the side-effects
There shouldn’t be, the only waiting time is when you bring the perscription to the pharmacy and then they fill it. But be careful with Accutane, I took it and it’s caused me some serious medical problems, not to scare you or anything.
There is not a waiting period if you have successfully completed all of the online educational material as part of the iPledge program. If you haven’t completed this online material or any other requirement of the iPledge program, then you will not be able to fill the prescription until you do so.
Once the script is dated by the doctor, you will have 5 days to have it filled at the pharmacy so bring it in quickly. If you wait too long, the prescription expires and you will have to get a new one from the doctor.
Your dermatologist should go over all of the requirements with you to fill a valid prescription.
you definately shouldn’t take it. take Vilantae instead. does pretty much the same thing with almost no side effects except for upset stomach. Vilantae.com
Don’t do it!!!! Do not take accutane!! It is horrible. Unless you have tried everything else and have the worse acne that is causing extremely severe scars dont do it. Even if you do i still recommend you not to. You have to sign a waiver to take it, isnt that a warning sign. My girlfriend was on it and it completely changed her, she was prob one of the happeist cheery people ive ever met and turned her completely depressed and suicidal thoughts, and my fathers secretaries son actually committed suicide from depression caused my accutane. Its a horrible drug that dermatologists prescribe way to easily without any real thought. Ive also worked at cvs pharmacy and when ever i filled the accutane prescriptions the parmacists would tell me how horrible a drug it is and way over prescribed to people who dont even have bad enough acne for it to realy justify its use. If you still want to take it, just please get an opinion from a pharmacist. Doctors just prescribe meds to patients they know alot but not that much about meds, you really have to get information from pharmacists about the drugs. And to answer you ??? they do some blood tests on you monthly, usually.
my son took it, and I am glad he did. there are afew things you should know, the first month, he actually looked worse, it made everything come up to the surface at once, but after that it got better and better. Also, he had super dry lips that chapped like crazy, so buy up alot of chapstick. he did not have any side effects like depression, etc. but they even talk about some gross side effects. all in all, you should find that after that you never have acne again. he did it at 15 or 16 and he has never had more than a pimple again. But do be careful and don’t blow off the literature on it…not every drug is right for every person. I wish you very good luck. and patience.
No. It`s only for women because Accutane may cause miscarriage. It can`t be prescribed during pregnancy.
i’m not sure if you males have to log on to the website and answer questions. i know when i was taking accutane, i had to answer the questions before being able to pick up the rx at the pharmacy. it’s real common sense like "if you’re neighbor asks to try some of your accutane do you: a) tell him/her no because it’s a controlled substance b) let them try a sample. a few couldn’t hurt" yeah. and some pregnancy questions. if you got a big orange/yellow book with a pin or ID number then you know what i am talking about. i know everyone has to take the blood tests just to check up on your liver. i had to take a month long break during my treatment because of "increased brain pressure" which felt like migraines.
